About Us

Our Background

Global Classroom Education has been delivering high-quality online English tuition since the beginning of the 2019/2020 academic year. 


We specialise in preparing students for a wide range of examinations, including 11+ English, 11+ Verbal Reasoning, GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature.

Our Courses

We deliver the following content:


11+ ENGLISH


  • Comprehension - fiction texts (emphasis on 19th century prose) and non-fiction texts
  • Vocabulary - complex synonyms
  • Spelling - plurals, homophones, homographs, prefixes, suffixes, silent letters, double letters
  • Punctuation - starting and ending sentences, commas, dashes, brackets, apostrophes, hyphens, inverted commas, colons, semi colons
  • Grammar - nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, determiners, clauses and phrases
  • Writers' Techniques - similes, metaphors, personification, alliteration, onomatopoeia, rhetorical questions, idioms
  • Creative Writing - making a plan, character descriptions, setting descriptions, including dialogue, short stories


11+ VERBAL REASONING


  • The Alphabet - alphabet positions, identify a letter from a clue, alphabetical order
  • Making Words - missing letters, move a letter, hidden word, find the missing word, use a rule to make a word, compound words, forming new words, complete a word pair, anagram in a sentence, word ladders
  • Word Meanings - closest meaning, opposite meaning, multiple meanings, odd ones out, word connections, reorder words to make a sentence


GCSE ENGLISH LANGUAGE (AQA, EDEXCEL, EDUQAS)


  • Paper 1 - extracting information from a text, analysing language, analysing structure, providing an essay response to a biased opinion, creative writing
  • Paper 2 - highlighting information, comparing similarities and differences, analysing language, comparing writers' perspectives and feelings, persuasive/transactional writing


GCSE ENGLISH LITERATURE (AQA, EDEXCEL, EDUQAS)


  • Macbeth - by William Shakespeare
  • Romeo and Juliet - by William Shakespeare
  • A Christmas Carol - by Charles Dickens
  • Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde - by Robert Louis Stevenson
  • Frankenstein - by Mary Shelley

  • An Inspector Calls - by J.B. Priestley
  • Lord of the Flies - by William Golding
  • Poetry Anthology - Power and Conflict or Love and Relationships
  • Unseen Poetry - analysing form, structure and language 

Personalised Lessons

We deliver online tuition one-to-one and also in groups of up to four. Our prices are as follows:


  • One-to-one - £30 per hour session
  • Group of two - £20 per hour session, per student
  • Group of three - £15 per hour session, per student
  • Group of four - £12.50 per hour session, per student

Founder of Global Classroom Education and lead tutor. David has been teaching English in primary, secondary and language schools since 2005. Prior to founding Global Classroom Education, he was the Head of the EAL Department at Hartsdown Academy in Margate, Kent.

We will respond to your request as soon as possible. If it is not possible to fulfil your preferred time due to lack of availability, we will offer alternatives. 


A Zoom invite followed by an invoice with bank details will be emailed to the parent a day before the lesson. The client is kindly asked to pay by bank transfer no later than an hour before the lesson is due to start.


Global Classroom delivers lessons primarily on Zoom.
